PARVANEH TOGHIANI

Hi I’m Parv - a full stack product designer with 10+ years of experience

Uber App Redesign

June 2020 - 2022
Design Lead

In 2020 I co-led a strategic effort to design the future of the Uber app and make it evolve beyond its roots of on-demand rides. We spent the next 2 years evolving and evangelizing the work to restructure the app’s information architecture, booking flow, and on trip experience. I learned how to influence and shift not only an organization’s perspective and but also their roadmap towards a platform mindset.

These northstar visions inspired the executive team and became the main strategic focus for Uber from 2021-2024

Uber Package Delivery

June 2020
Design Lead

As a response to covid-19, Uber scrappily launched Uber Connect, a way to send a package in the time it takes to drive there.

During a 1 week sprint, design, research, and content collaborated to establish the vision and roadmap of necessary features to ensure a safe and clear experience for the sender, recipient, and driver.

Uber Bus

2018-2019
Design Lead

Ever wonder what a 15 seat Uber Pool would look like? During my first year on the consumer app, I got to imagine just that.

I led the design of Uber Bus, a brand new initiative for Uber in emerging markets. This effort forced a complete reinvention of the Uber experience, to move from an on-demand model to static pickup stops and schedules, the ability to book multiple seats at once, etc.

Uber Pool Walking & Waiting

2018
Design Lead

Being first to market can come with its own challenges around user comprehension and retention.

This project’s goal was to reduce cancelations and educate riders about Express Pool’s differentiating requirements to get the most affordable ride yet — walking a few blocks to and from their ride and waiting an extra 2-5 min to match with a driver and co-rider.

Chatbaka App

Telenav 2015-2016
Design Lead

At the beginning of 2015, Telenav, a company known for pioneering technology in mapping and navigation, sought to launch an app that combined voice communication with navigation in the car. After 3 months, we pivoted to focus our efforts on the app’s most interesting feature a way to safely text and drive.

I wore all the hats. If the app needed it, I did it.

Telenav 2014
Design Lead

In the fall of 2014, Telenav's Incubation team launched the beta version of HopOver, a map-based instant friend-finder.

I joined 1 month before launch. Similar to Chatbaka I did anything that needed doing: Branding, Product Design, Marketing, Web Design & Development for the app landing page. I even dressed up as a Kangaroo when we tried to launch on college campuses.
